>> this is the liberatory maneuver,also known as a semont maneuver for treatment of left posterior canal bppv. perform this maneuver under directionof your physical therapist or physician after bppv has been positively identifiedto be affecting your left posterior canal. sit on the edge of your bed, turnyour head 45 degrees to the left, and quickly lay down on your left side. remain in this position for oneminute, then quickly go from laying on your left side to your right side. do not change the orientation of your head.

so you should be looking diagonallydownward towards the floor when you are laying on your right side. stay in this position for one minute. then slowly return to sittingand sit on the edge of your bed and keep your head level for ten minutes.
