were very excited to be apart of this renovationand part of a different gateway to campus, partnering and engaging the athletic venuesacross the street here. this is just a tremendous honor for us, ican tell you that no other store in our 1,200 chain, 1,200 store chain has quite the ambiancethat this one does. this store represents the best and brightestwe have to offer for older gentlemen like me remember the uniform that daryl griffithwore we actually have those in the store and we are excited to offer just in general anenhancement sort of products to make your experience here all the better. we're really transforming the student centermore and more into the hub of campus the heart
of campus the family room of campus over thelast 10 years we've seen our campus population living on campus increase by more then 100%so were seeing more and more students that are here, that are active, their engaged,they need these spaces. our recognized student organizations haveincrease by more than 125% from a little over 200 to around 450 that we currently have. so this is just another step, thats excitingto see all the great things that are occurring at the university of louisville and were reallyappreciative for the partner and everything there doing from a national level to improvethe student experience here at the university of louisville.
over my last 4 years i have watched this campustransform in the best ways, i've witnessed the opening of the student recreation center,the early stages of the student activity center's renovation and now the opening of our newcampus store. this is a pivotal year as a louisville cardinalbecause we were able to witness the transformation of our campus with the addition of modern,state of the art concepts and structures. the university of louisville campus storeholds an inviting atmosphere that encourages all students to put their best foot forwardin their academic settings by opening this book store to our student population we areable to cater technology, merchandise and academic resources all within one intricatelydesigned space.
