embodying many different artistic styles, the clinton curtis band was invited by the u.s. embassy to represent music from the u.s. during a cultural exchange with brazil. the american musicians had a cultural encounter with local musicians at mucane, a espirito santo museum of african heritage. during the trip to espirito santo, the band visited escola municipal tuffy nader, and watched a congo performance. in response, the clinton curtis band gave a live concert, followed by conversations with the students and a lot of photos at the end. to show their appreciation, a student presented the band with a popular instrument used in congo,
the cazaca de cabeza. next, the clinton curtis band visited the university of music of espirito santo. inside the studio, the band, professors and students of music displayed their talents. the clinton curtis band was introduced to forro improvised some bossa nova, and responded the questions of students and professors. the band also visited an essential stop for any tourist visiting espirito santo, the penha convent. where it is possible to see the city of vitoria and vila velha.

a night that also included local capixaba group pã³ de ser emoriã´ and the singer andre prando. the night ended with a lot of music and dancing, celebrating this cultural exchange. thank you brazil!
