college of business here at uc are on fire. both are rising in the rankings. we're number one in so many places... and this new building is just another place to really add fuel to the fireof solving significant problems, both for businessand for society.
>> dan: when you have a space and place where students walk in every day and are inspired, faculty and staff as well, perspective students, corporate partners, all sorts ofdifferent stakeholders, that excitement builds theenergy for the college. and as we think aboutwhere things are today,
to bring that excitementinto this new space, the opportunities are unlimited. >> bob: i am standing on a buried detention tank- 10 foot diameter, 180 feet long and that thing is going to hold all the rain water that's coming off of this building. but we're also standingon the transportation hub.
this is our through-road for bus traffic, pick up and drop off, the pizza delivery man. our building basicallyis set up like a square, but there's fourquadrants to that square. if you were to take an image of, of the building and look straight down on it, you can see those quadrants.
>> doug: we're standing right outside the auditorium here and this will be a glass faã§ade, and we'll have stairs going down the outside. we've got a two-story auditorium that as we mentioned coming in from the north end of the building
you'll enter the lowerlevel of the auditorium and then the seats will rise up to the first floor as you can see the first floor is starting to be formed over here. >> bob: when you're talking 40,000 students, there's, there's a lot going on here and it's going to be a hub
for all that, for all those students to come to. >> ben: this new building will continue uc's focus on experiential learning. as being the newest building on campus, it'll bring the kind of recognition to the college of business's broader advances,
but specifically to honors-plus's contributions to that. >> lindsey: the new business college will allow for us to have multiple areas where we can all work together and collaborate and create great outcomes
and really work together within the college of business. >> adrienne: look at the renderings. i mean when you look at them, the space reads, "innovation, creativity, exploration." >> david: one of the exciting parts is that our students are
in high-demand. the demand is increasing every day. it's not only the big corporations that are hiring our students, it's the small corporations, it's the small businesses, it's family businesses, private business. it's non-profits.
and so, when you think about how we serve our communities and how we make our city and state and the country better, our students are, are really inevery sector of the economy and they seek it out and theyhave the value systems and the, and the training that allows them to be successful in any sector in which they pursue.
we have world-class students,we have world-class faculty and now we're going to have a world-class building in which to instruct them and teach them. it's going to be the gem, really of the campus and the gateway to, to our campus and so it's a, the time isnow and the time is right.
